Hi! My name is Trooper. I had been a stray for months in a rural area where people fed me now and then. One day, I got extra unlucky and a car hit me. It really hurt! I became all swollen in my belly area and my back leg, and it was really hard to walk!
Luckily, a nice person brought me to a shelter and The Animal League people were called to see if they would help me. Of course they said YES because they always love to help those doggies and kitties who are in desperate need. When The Animal League brought me to the emergency veterinarian they found that not only did I have a pelvic fracture, but I also had a bad abdominal hernia and I needed surgery right away. Once my belly parts heal, the doctor will look at my pelvic fracture. My kidneys are also pretty beat up, but the doctor thinks they will be ok and I just need time to heal.
I was at the doggie hospital this week for days but now I am staying with a really nice foster family. They are helping me to take my medicine and giving me lots of extra love and rest time. My friends named me Trooper, because of all that I have been through, I am a Trooper! I am a very kind and polite doggie and I am very grateful for all of their care. My medical bill so far is over $6,300. I would be SO VERY grateful for any help you could send to my friends at The Animal League. They do not receive any government funding and rely solely on donations and support from the community (that’s you guys) to help doggies and kitties.
I PROMISE, I am worth every penny, I am such a good boy!
