Have a Heart Recovery Fund Helps Heartworm + Dogs

This year, save a heart – literally!

For the week of Valentine’s Day, Monday 2/12/18 – Sunday 2/18/18, make a donation to the Have a Heart Recovery Fund of at least $25 and we’ll send a personalized e-card to your favorite sweetheart!

Heartworm disease is a serious disease that results in severe lung disease,  heart failure, other organ damage, and death in pets.

Heartworm disease is not contagious, meaning that a dog cannot catch the  disease from being near an infected dog.  Heartworm disease is only spread  through the bite of a mosquito.

The Animal League does not turn its back to rescuing heartworm positive dogs, in spite of the high costs to treat this painful and deadly disease. At any given time The Animal League has in its care about 20 heartworm positive dogs, in which the treatment costs range from $500 – $800 for each pet.

Donate to the Have a Heart Recovery Fund and proceeds will go directly toward rehabilitating dogs who have this painful and deadly disease.
