Another Busy Puppy and Kitten Season
May has been another whirlwind of activity, with puppy and kitten season in full swing too. Currently we’re caring for over ten adorable kittens, as well as a nursing cat mom and her little ones, resulting in plenty of hungry mouths to feed. We’re incredibly thankful for the generous food donations we’ve received. They play a crucial role in enabling us to provide the care these animals desperately need. If you’d still like to make a donation, you can find the details along with a list of our currently most needed items here:
Surgery Successes for Duke And Trooper
The Sunshine Fund supports pets arriving at The Animal League with injuries and illnesses that go beyond usual situations. This month, your generous donations have helped to pay for Duke’s surgery to remove his eyes, and for the abdominal surgery Trooper needed after being hit by a car. Duke has healed well and navigates his surroundings with ease. He is now seeking his forever home, ready to share all the love he has to offer with his forever special person or family. Trooper is also making good progress in his recovery, thanks to the dedicated and nurturing care provided by his foster mom. You can read the rescue stories of Duke and Trooper here:

Neighborhood Pet Partners Program Relaunch
We are excited to announce the relaunch of our Neighborhood Pet Partners Program, designed to provide essential care, pet food, and spay/neuter services to underserved communities. This initiative not only brings comfort to pets but also addresses the issue of pet overpopulation at its root. Nourish the Needy forms one part of this initiative, and further developments will be announced soon, so watch this space! If you have an interest in volunteering for this program or any other aspect of our work, you can find more information on our Volunteer page.
Events
Our Events Team has been very active lately. We continue to host adoption events at the Clermont Farmers Market every Sunday, along with the popular Dog and Cat Days at Petco on the first Sunday and fourth Saturday of each month. In May we also had some dogs visit the YogaSix studio in Clermont for a special donation-based Y6 Mix Slow Jam class. Additionally, the annual Sips & Suds fundraiser, organized by Debbie Flinn and Lisa Rose, was a tremendous success. Despite the heat, we had a fantastic turnout, and our furry friends truly shined, enjoying the chance to cool off in their very own pool. A big shoutout to all our organizers, volunteers, and everyone who took part in these events. You guys really make it all happen and we couldn’t do it without you!
Happy Tails
What a joyful ending to all our hard work when a dog or cat finds their forever loving home! It is especially heartwarming when it’s one of our “harder to adopt” pets. This month, among many other success stories, it was Happy Tails for Bailey, Diesel, and Eleanor and Lucy. How wonderful is that?
