Katie came to us at 11 years old after her owner had to move and could not take her with them. This sweet dachshund had been struggling, carrying the weight of a massive tumor that made it difficult for her to walk and enjoy life. Our team quickly stepped in. Within just two days of arriving, Katie underwent surgery to remove a 4-pound mammary tumor, which is a life-changing procedure for such a little body.

Her journey didn’t end there. One of our incredible surgical team members took Katie home for post-operative care, giving her the love, patience, and attention she needed to heal. Somewhere along the way, something special happened; Katie didn’t just recover, she found her forever home!
Today, Katie is thriving, cherished by the very person who helped save her life. From hardship to healing, Katie’s story is a beautiful reminder of resilience, compassion, and the power of second chances.
