Serving the local Community Since 1988

The Animal League has a variety of programs and services dedicated to serving our local community and homeless pets.

Sunshine Fund

The Sunshine Fund was established to help offset the costs of rehabilitating severely injured and neglected homeless pets. Sunshine Fund pets require extensive medical attention, which other shelters cannot afford. It is through our Sunshine Fund that The Animal League is able to rescue pets in need of major medical attention. Anyone can chip in to the Sunshine Fund and help.

The Animal League Wellness Center

We aim to reduce euthanasia rates in our community with a focus on community outreach programs that truly promote families staying happy and healthy together. The Animal League Wellness Center assists in addressing issues surrounding our community, such as pet overpopulation, by providing affordable pet care.

Resources

The Animal League has more than 30 years of experience rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming pets. We know what it takes to keep pets safe, what to do if a pet gets loose, and how to keep a pet during challenging times.

Humane Education

The Animal League’s Humane Education Department provides programs focused on increasing animal compassion and knowledge of pet responsibility, and educating people on the role and services the Animal League provides to the community.

Nourish The Needy

Faced with financial hardship, families often give up their pets when they cannot afford to feed them. Through The Animal League’s Nourish the Needy program, families are provided free pet food through our partnership with local food pantries in our community. We believe that pets are important family members, and by helping to keep these pets in their homes, we will maintain the human-animal bond that is so important – especially in difficult times.

Pet Bequest Program

While some pet owners establish “pet trusts” or name a caregiver for their animals, others are not fortunate enough to know someone they can trust to carry out their pets’ best interests. The Animal League is happy to assist in these situations, but pet owners need to plan for this early. We will accept your pets through our Pet Bequest program and work toward finding them a forever home.

Junior League

The Animal League has designed the Junior League program for children in preschool through 9th grade and their parents looking to make a difference in homeless pets’ lives. On site at our Adoption Center campus, our Humane Education Team gives kids a brief overview of animal compassion and knowledge of pet responsibility before participating in fun activities.
