Hi friends! It’s me, OTTAWA! I’ve been searching for a family since January 2016.

I am a happy-go-lucky, silly dog. As a true hound, I love to follow my nose! I would love a home that would take me on long, leisurely walks so I could sniff every flower, leaf, and twig in the entire world! – or maybe just the neighborhood to start with.

I would make a great dog for a family! I am friendly with kids and other dogs. When I fall asleep every night, I like to dream about going on adventures with a little boy or girl of my own. We could go hiking, swimming, build forts, and play frisbee! That sounds like the life!

Sadly, sometimes I don’t think my dreams will come true. Every time I see a family walk through the kennels, I sit nice and calmly, trying to make the best impression so that they’ll ask to take me out! It’s hard to see how handsome I am inside the kennel.

I know hound dogs like me wait longer to find homes, but we make wonderful companions! Please give me a chance to show you! You can help me make my dreams come true!

Hi! I’m GARNET! I’ve been searching for my furever home for an entire year!

When I first came to The Animal League, I was nursing four fluffy pups and was battling deadly heartworm disease. My puppies found homes super fast, as all puppies do.

I was treated for my heartworms, and made a full recovery, and I told myself that I’d find a home in no time. The months have come and gone, and I’m still here. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Animal League friends! But I am getting overlooked constantly. No one has asked to see me in months, and when my Matchmaker friends suggest me to visitors, they always pass me up.

I am a very sweet girl! I am housetrained and happy. I love other doggies. In fact, I’d really like a home with another dog (or two!). Sometimes, when I get left all by myself for too long I get very nervous and I can chew stuff up. I miss you so much! I need you to work with me to show me you won’t abandon me. Another furry dog friend would also help me not get so nervous.

I know that I might look like a big scary dog, but in reality I’m a big softy. I even let my friends dress me up in a beautiful red feather boa for my photoshoot – try getting a puppy to sit patiently while you do that! I love to go on walks, cool off in the pool, and chase tennis balls. I also walk very well on a leash!

Please don’t keep passing me up! I may not be perfect, but I try my best to be a good girl! All I need is a chance to prove myself.
