Bill Bryan Subaru “Shares the Love”

On April 22, 2016, Joe Goguen, General Manager of Bill Bryan Subaru presented The Animal League’s Executive Director, Doreen Barker and Director of Development, Jessica Whitehouse, with a check of $7,778 from their 2015 “Share the Love” Event. During the event, for every new vehicle purchased or leased, Subaru donated $250 to participating charities or a “Hometown Charity.” Bill Bryan Subaru has selected The Animal League to be their charity of choice since inception of the Share the Love Event.

Bill Bryan Subaru has demonstrated time and time again through our quarterly adoption days, their Pet Adoption Expo, media promotions featuring our adoptable pets, special events, parades, and much more, that they are a community-minded business dedicated to helping save the lives of homeless animals,” says Barker. “We thank them for their philanthropic support and commitment to the mission of The Animal League.”

Joe and his girlfriend Christy also have a personal connection to The Animal League because they adopted their lovable Boxer, named Brewster, in January 2013. Brewster had been abandoned as a puppy and was rescued by The Animal League. Today, when Brewster is not swimming in Lake Weir or chasing birds, he serves as the Bill Bryan Subaru Mascot and makes appearances in nearly all of the company’s commercials as well as having a whole wall in the dealership dedicated with his hand-painted mural featuring his rescue story. Last year, Joe and Christy decided to adopt another Animal League rescue into their family—this time a one-year-old female Boxer named Ginger. “We can’t imagine life without our two great rescue dogs!” says Goguen. “They bring us great unconditional love and we hope every pet that gets adopted has a happy ending like Brewster and Ginger.”

Bill Bryan Subaru and The Animal League will hold an Adoption Day on May 21, 2016 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at the dealership located at 8730 Hwy 441 in Leesburg. Bill Bryan Subaru will even pay for a portion of the adoption fees for any animal that finds its “fur-ever” home during this event.
